2020 INFINITI QX80 vs 2020 Cadillac Escalade

Serving Novi, MI

If you’re searching for the ultimate luxury SUV, the 2020 INFINITI QX80 is a top choice. The QX80 competes with the 2020 Cadillac Escalade in the category of large luxury SUVs. However, the QX80 outperforms the Escalade in several areas, including power and performance, interior design, and amenities.

Performance & Handling

When it comes to performance and handling, the 2020 INFINITI QX80 shows that although it might just look like a pretty package, there’s substantial power beneath its hood. The QX80 uses a regular gasoline engine with an impressive amount of power, which is up to 400 horsepower and just a bit more than 400 lb-ft in total torque. The QX80 gets a seven-speed transmission with automatic gear shifting. It gives you the choice of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive in most trims, although the Limited trim only gets four-wheel drive. The Cadillac Escalade has one engine for the lineup as well. It also comes with a standard automatic transmission. While the QX80 includes four-wheel drive, however, 4WD is only available on the Escalade, and you have to pay extra to add it on.

An exquisite interior design awaits both the driver and passengers in the 2020 INFINITI QX80. There is plenty of room for all in the QX80 in all three rows of seats. The QX80 provides an exceptional volume of legroom and headroom. In contrast, the Cadillac Escalade interior can feel comparatively more cramped, especially in the back row. While three adults can sit comfortably in the back of the QX80, space is much more limited in the Escalade. The QX80 also has a unique suspension system that offers a silky-smooth ride, while the Escalade’s truck-like platform provides less comfort.

Features & Amenities

The QX80 piles on the luxury starting with the first trim by including a panoramic parking camera, parking sensors, and an abundance of safety technology, including automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning. The QX80 also consists of a heated steering wheel. Its infotainment system, which is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, also includes navigation. A 13-speaker Bose sound system is standard on the base trim, but you can upgrade to a 17-speaker system instead. The Cadillac Escalade only offers a maximum of 16 speakers for its sound system. While the INFINITI gets lush quilted leather seats, you’ll only get regular leather seats with the Cadillac at best.
