2020 INFINITI QX80 vs 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS

Serving Novi, MI

The INFINITI QX80 is the premium full-size SUV that has rightfully garnered your full attention. However, before you pick out the exact QX80 that you want to make your own, you need to see how well it compares to other premium vehicles in this class. The GLS is the flagship SUV in the Mercedes-Benz line today. What are the important differences between the 2020 INFINITI QX80 and the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

The QX80 and the GLS both have a proud, box-like profile with roof rails and modest, body-colored molding throughout the lower side panels and wheel wells. The QX80 stands apart with its defined haunches, side air vents, a liftgate spoiler, running boards, and a gorgeous grille. The 2020 GLS has a shorter nose with more definition and a stronger angle toward the grille. Its front end is sculpted to set the LED headlights slightly back from the grille.

The elite character of the 2020 INFINITI QX80 is reflected across all three rows inside the cabin. Some or all trims have a dual-tone color scheme with accent stitching in the leather. They also may have stacked screens in the center of the dashboard. These give you access to smart device connectivity, a navigation system, a premium audio system, and other equipment. The driver can appreciate a glossy steering wheel with heat and mounted functions. A digital display screen delivers easy access to the instrumentation gauge data. In the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS, the single infotainment system screen is placed over four air vents. The wide center console has handgrips on both sides, and it angles upward to connect with the center stack.

Differences are also apparent when you compare the capabilities of the QX80 and the GLS. The QX80’s entry-level powertrain is a V8, 5.6-liter engine that generates 400 horsepower. Its performance is impacted by a seven-speed auto transmission featuring adaptive learning, adaptive shift control, and other premium technologies. The entry-level powertrain in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS is an I-6 turbo, 3.0-liter engine that generates 362 horsepower. If you add the EQ Boost feature, the engine’s performance capabilities improve by 21 horsepower.
