2021 INFINITI QX50 vs 2020 INFINITI QX50

Serving Novi, MI

Our customers at Suburban INFINITI of Novi often ask about the improvements that have been made to the 2021 QX50. This compact luxury crossover’s second generation launched in 2019. While exciting improvements were made to the QX50 at that time, INFINITI has thoughtfully enhanced the model in modest yet meaningful ways in more recent model years. What are the differences between the 2020 and 2021 QX50 versions?

From a performance perspective, the 2020 QX50 and the updated 2021 model are identical. For all trim levels in both model years, the QX50’s performance is driven by a continuously variable transmission linked to a VC-turbo four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine. The duo generates 268 horsepower. While you are behind the wheel, you can take advantage of several driving modes to adjust the SUV’s performance based on driving conditions. All-wheel drive and front-wheel drive are available across the trim line.

The 2020 INFINITI QX50 is easy on the eyes from every angle, so you may appreciate the fact that INFINITI did not change this crossover’s exterior style for any of the 2021 trim levels. However, there is now an optional Appearance Package available for the 2021 LUXE trim level that upgrades interior and exterior design elements. For all trims, the 2020 and 2021 QX50 are premium vehicles with a gorgeous balance of athletic, lean lines and modern accents. The sporty side of the QX50 is defined by a coupe-like profile with an angled rear windshield and a spoiler. This is enhanced by low ground clearance and an extended hood. Chrome accents around the grille, side windows, and rear combine with LED lighting to complete the QX50’s impressive look for 2020 and 2021.

The INFINITI QX50 LUXE trim is the only trim level to receive updates for 2021. In the previous model year’s LUXE trim, the ProActive and ProAssist safety technologies were available in optional packages. These features are standard in the 2021 model. For both years, the QX50 has an innovative design through the front row. This includes stacked digital screens that control the infotainment system technologies, the sound system, the climate management system, and more. The bold design continues with a curved element that runs through the center console.
