There are no significant changes for the INFINITI QX80 between 2020 and 2021. In 2020, the luxury SUV got some minor improvement, including a new infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were included as standard features for the first time in 2020, too. The 2020 model year also saw the arrival of the Edition 30 package, a signature package honoring the company’s 30th year of production in the US. In 2021, the INFINITI QX80 still tows an impressive 8,500 pounds. It has a versatile seating arrangement of seven to eight occupants depending on the trim you choose, and there is ample cargo space for all trims. A spacious interior and upscale materials are another highlight for the QX80 in 2020 and 2021.
Performance is the same for the INFINITI QX80 in 2020 and 2021. The INFINITI has the same engine and mechanical system for trim levels: the Luxe and the Limited. The standard engine for the QX80 is a V8 with a 5.6L capacity. This engine produces a maximum of 400 HP and 413 LB-FT in torque output. The INFINITI’s engine is connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission. You can choose between rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive for most trims on both model years, although four-wheel drive is the sole drivetrain offered for the Limited.
Appearance is also mostly unchanged between the 2020 and 2021 QX80. The base QX80 is configured with LED headlights and a power-operated liftgate. A dark chrome-accented grille and special badges are available through the ProActive package, which can be added on to either QX80 trim level. The package also upgrades the QX80’s headlights to auto-leveling headlights. Fine detail continues in the back and the addition of a chrome strip above the taillight finisher. The front fenders and hood both have sharp lines for a commanding finish.
The 2020 and 2021 INFINITI QX80 both have a stylish and luxurious interior. The front seats are heated and power-operated in both trims. Three-zone climate control is standard. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard in both model years. Even the base trim, called the Luxe, gets a 13-speaker Bose sound system, but you can upgrade to a more extensive 17-speaker sound system on the higher-end trims. An available Sensory package adds even more amenities, including quilted leather seats and heated seats in the back row.
