INFINITI Realizes First Steps on Path to Electrified Future
INFINITI has announced its bold Ambition 2030 plan, which envisions an electrified future for all INFINITI models by 2030. By 2030, most INFINITI vehicles sold around the world will be EVs. The automaker’s goals for its plan includes promoting greater inclusion and supporting a safer, cleaner world.
Recently, the automaker has announced part of its plans for bringing its Ambition 2030 goal to life. Specifically, one of the assembly locations for its electric models will be at the Nissan Vehicle Assembly Plant in Canton, Mississippi. Significant updates to the facility are needed to accommodate its new function as an EV production plant. More than $500 million has been allocated by Nissan Motor Corporation. Some of these funds will be applied to installing modern automation technologies. One of the first vehicles to be produced in Canton will be the QS sedan. Production is scheduled to begin in 2025. The Ambition 2030 plan projects that 15 EV models will be offered across the Nissan and INFINITI lineups by 2030.
